From there, we grind our whole protein ingredients (chicken breasts, pork muscle meat, beef muscle meat). Each treat bar is hand-placed on dehydrator screens. Our dehydrators are custom built with temperature, humidity, and airflow programs that are designed specifically for each of our recipes. Each treat's cook time varies but ranges from 7 to 9 hours. At this point, they are removed from the dehydrator, packed into bags and ready to make dogs happy across the country!

Because heat destroys nutrients. Cooking at high temperatures kills harmful bacteria but can also break down critical nutrients, undermining the value of quality ingredients. Gentle, low-temperature processing (generally around 140–180°F) minimizes the loss of heat-sensitive nutrients — vitamins A, C, E, and the B vitamins, plus antioxidants, omega fatty acids, and amino acids like lysine. It also preserves the natural flavors and aromas dogs love, and still reduces pathogens such as Salmonella and E. coli, making it safer than raw while keeping many of the same nutritional benefits.

The primary things that make our sprinkles special are:

Despite the name, it’s usually best to mix a topper thoroughly into the food rather than just spooning it on top. Mixing prevents your dog from eating only the topper and leaving the actual food — and most of its nutrition — behind in the bowl.
